Gary grew up in a small rural area where auctions were a part of the "social fabric". As a young boy, he loved going to the livestock auctions with his family and after a full day, he'd race home to the barn to

practice his chant on his father's cattle.

 

Gary always knew he wanted to be an auctioneer,

he graduated from the Southwestern School of Auctioneering and soon began expanding his professional knowledge. He is trained and accredited by the Canadian Personal Property Appraisal Group

and has been an appraiser for 15 years.

 

For 10 years he worked at the Ontario Livestock Exchange - the very place he found his passion for auctioneering!

 

Gary has worked for Manheim Auto Auctions (Toronto Auto Auctions) for 17 years and is still there. He enjoys the fast paced environment of the auto auctions and the various vehicles he sells from everyday vans to luxury sport cars.

 

In 2010, He won the Grand Champion Auctioneer award and frequently gives his time to many charity events throughout the year.

 

Gary's true accomplishment for the past 30 years has been being an auctioneer at Jantzi Auctions Ltd. He strives to continue the tradition of a good old fashioned handshake mixed with a high energy auction.

 

These days his chant is heard by hundreds of people every sale. Each time he picks up his microphone, he finishes with words he probably says in his sleep "Sold! Sold! Sold!"
